Thomas Friess (AUT)

Thomas Friess was appointed COO / CFO of HEROLD in September 2003 and became CEO in March 2005. During the last years he succeeded to transform the company from a traditional directory publisher to one of the most successful media companies in Austria.

After his studies of economics and finance he held various positions at German bank institutes. As a Director at Metzler Bank, a well-known German boutique investment bank, he was in charge of various M&A projects and IPOs. He was also responsible for Metzler´s corporate finance business in NYC.

Prior to his appointment in Austria he served as CFO of Weru AG, a private-equity owned and listed building supply company.
