Bernhard Niesner (AUT)

Bernhard, the founder of busuu, was born in the beautiful city of Vienna in Austria. His native tongue is the charming accent of Viennese German and he is fluent in English and Spanish. He´s still working on his (Brazilian) Portuguese and will keep you updated about his progress.

The idea of busuu was born in 2007 when he and the co-founder of busuu had to improve their Spanish. They were wondering why this is still such a complicated, time-consuming and expensive process. On top, at that time facebook was growing quickly in Spain so they thought how to use technology in order to improve the way people learn new languages. So as part of their final project within the MBA they developed a language learning method which is completely flexible, entertaining and available at an affordable price.

Busuu has the dream to contribute to the diversity of languages all over the world – therefore they will continuously extend the languages offered at their website.
