Anil Hansjee (GBR)
Anil was recently Head of M&A for Google EMEA leading deals for over $230m. Covering the period since leaving Google in June 2011, the 5 year period at Google and the 4 years prior as a venture capitalist with IDG Ventures he has been an active startup advisor/investor in companies such as FON, Worldflow.net, Digital Vega, dotMobi (sold to Afilias), Lionhead (sold to Microsoft), Ubiquisys, Mobile Planet, Shazam, Namaste.vg, RollUp Media, Sine Wave Company and Zattikka, as well as an LP in seed VC funds Seedcamp II LLP and 500 Startups LP.
He is currently an Advisor to the private equity funds EQT, MCI (Poland) and Creandum (Sweden) and received an Honorary Doctorate in Computing for services to IT entrepreneurship from Kingston University in 2011. Prior to IDG Ventures, he was originally a Derivatives engineer then an technology investment banker in Chicago, NYC and London with UBS, Chase and Bear Stearns. He is also an active policy advisor to the British Computer Society and a UK Government “techcity” champion for the emergent silicon roundabout in East London.
In both 2010 and 2011, Wired magazine named Anil as one of UK’s top 50 digital power brokers.
